So, we finally decided to pay for advertising to see if it pans out...We've been experimenting with ProjectWonderful, see previous posts, but decided to try out advertising on the CelebrationBoutique.
We took out a bronze ad, which is $29 for a year...not bad, hopefully it gets lots of exposure and brings some people in for a look-see. Here is the ad:
Because we joined we were included in their Mother's Day Showcase, see below:
If you are interested in this chance to advertise, it is by invitation only...I guess it is juried but I haven't heard of anyone being rejected... You can find more information here:

I just wish there was a way to track how many clicks the ad was getting, and if any sales came from it...
Post your comments here if you have any critiques, suggestions, experience etc.!
What a nice day! We've had the pleasure of 4 sold items! Because Etsy doesn't give us stats, I can't tell you what worked. But, our strategy for Mother's Day has been to try out ads via Project Wonderful and to try a few other venues, increased posting in the Etsy forums, and a Mother's Day showcase feature on Etsy. One of our sales was from a brand new Etsy buyer, just joined the same day they purchased from us...maybe they came from one of my ads!
Here is our new ad, that we are placing all over cyber space:
We've spent about $12 so far, and have 10-12 ads up, and have received about 118 clicks last time I checked.
We also just purchased ad space in the Celebration Boutique, what a cool site! We'll be featured in their Mother's Day Showcase as well. We had to apply to be included because it is by "invitation only"...not sure if they accept everyone that applies, but we'll see if this pans out for us, it was $29 for a year...
Do you have other tips or strategies? Post them here!!!!
I joined Project Wonderful yesterday. It is a somewhat new way to advertise your online shop, you advertise on other peoples blogs and websites, by bidding. It's seems very cool, but I'm not sure if it is actually worth it. It definitely gets you more exposure from what I can tell, but not so sure about actual sales.
I've only spent about $2 on advertising, and have some small, very basic ads on about 10 different websites that average about 10,000 views/day. I started yesterday, and have a total of about 20 clicks on my ads.
As part of this new endeavor, I decided to try and learn some Adobe Photoshop skills. Good Lord, that's a lot of information. My "ad" design is very basic and I hope to play around some more and create a very "clickable" advertisement. This is my very basic ad that I created in photoshop yesterday, it took me about an hour!
Please share your comments good or bad if you have any experience with Project Wonderful. IIt seems very addicting, like a bad gambling habit. I keep checking the stats and my bids and my shop, a vicious circle of me sitting at the computer wasting my time, when I should be working or tending to the kids! I'll be sure to keep updating as more data comes my way.
Creative Glass Guild of Etsy~ August Challenge: Glass ACEO’s
The Creative Glass Guild of Etsy (CGGE) would like to announce our August Team Challenge! During the month of July, CGGE members rose to the challenge of creating “Glass ACEO’s”
What are ACEO’s?
Congratulations to all the CGGE (Creative Glass Guild of Etsy) artists that made it to Etsy’s front page today!
A huge THANKS to glasshousejewelry for her gorgeous treasury featuring fine glass art from Etsy’s newest glass street team, the Creative Glass Guild of Etsy (CGGE)
We are so excited here at creationsinglass, this was our FIRST time to make it to the Front Page, it has been a goal of ours as we are nearing our First Year Etsyversary! It was like winning the lottery, such a great feeling J I called Mom and Dad to tell them, but alas by the time they logged onto Etsy, the front page had changed. *sniff * sniff
Congratulations to FireChickTick for selling her gorgeous bubble pendant!
To see more beautiful glass pieces from our members visit our website at http://www.cgge.org
Here is a screen shot of the front page, our piece is on the top right, sorry I didn’t take more pics of the bottom half of the screen, I was busy calling and posting about it in the forums etc.
Hi!
I am a glass artist on Etsy! I want to make an effort to promote the glass work of others on a non-juried street team open to everybody who works with glass. So I wanted to give some exposure to Other Glass Artists On Etsy!
If you are a glass artist or know a glass artist that would like to be featured in my upcoming treasury, please let me know. I want to provide exposure to some of the other wonderful glass artists I see on Etsy!
If any of you are interested in forming a street team, I'll need A LOT of help, I am really new to all of this, but please definitely contact me with your interests and ideas. Maybe we can start one too, to continue to promote even more glass artists!
Thanks for reading and spreading the word!
I came home to 2 little packages of goodness tonight!!
So, I'm happy to feature some of the extreme yumminess I purchased from some fantastic Etsy sellers! This first pic is of some new "Kawaii" (cute) magnet set from PaperZombie I bought these off a buy & replace treasury (OH THE HORROR) joking, I like them! There I said it. Hahah. They are currently on my kitchen fridge but I will most likely take them in to work to spruce up my dreaded cubicle! They are so cute! Domo Arigato!
Next up, were some freaking adorable Owl Notecards that I purchased from theresamade from the Want a Sale? thread in the Etsy forums. My pics are not great, I'm not a photography wiz, and I was in a hurry, but they are soo cute!
So, the magnets got me thinking, and I want to backtrack and feature my all time FAVORITE magnets ever! I WILL be back for more. They are from mincingmockingbird who has the slyest sense of humor! Gotta love that dude! The captions read "I puke in my kids mouths" "Thems fightin words" "Ah, for fucks sake", "Fahk!" and "I prefer tequilla worms" I just love that sick humor! hahahahah
And lastly, my magnet collection includes these beaties from BellaStyle they are really gorgeous!
Remember those candles I bought from WoodcraftsandCandles? (see below, older post) I am burning the pomegrante martini in my CUSTOM stained glass candle holder that my Mom made! If you want one, convo her at her Etsy shop, creationsinglass! The first is my favorite view of the candle! The glass glows!
Gotta go for now! The bear this morning at breakfast! So Cute!
Ok, I think I want to participate in thing on Etsy on Thursdays, where they show pics of themselves. I think it is called "Self Portrait Thursday"
So here goes! Anyways, this one is me last November with my daughter :) If you don't know by now, I buy A LOT on Etsy ! My MOM is the actual glass artist at creationsinglass I simply help her with the photos, descriptions and computer stuff :) By the way, those earrings I'm wearing in this photo were my first purchase on Etsy from AngelKissesAlaska. You really can't tell how beautiful they are!
Here is a pic of my Mom last Halloween with my daughter! I love you Momma! How cute is my Mom?!
So, Mom had a custom request for a firefly. We had no idea what one looked like, so we googled it and saw a ghastly looking beast of a bug! How the heck do you make that cute?!

Isn't he CUTE?!! WHAT DO YOU THINK? Honest opinions please!
He is made from 8 pieces of hand cut stained glass, and his eyes and antennae are fused glass beads! Super!
