Starting NOW thru midnight OCTOBER 31st, the Creative Glass Guild of Etsy (CGGE) members will launch a special scavenger hunt with gorgeous glass prizes. Participating member shops will also be holding special pre-holiday sales as well!

Ms. Candy Corny, is the clue that will lead you to the prizes! In the spirit of Halloween, participating members will hide a picture of Candy Corny in one of their listings. See below and to the left for an image of Ms. Candy that you will need to find to be eligible to win the FREE prizes!

Your trick? Search our shops and find her, to qualify for a shiny treat.

One winner will receive a stunning silver leaves goddess pendant donated by dyzart. Another winner will receive a gorgeous dichroic fused glass pendant donated by GloriaLynnGlass AND a third winner will win a lovely seasonal stained glass pumpkin piece donated by GetGlassy. Here’s how to play!

Contest runs October 24-31
To play, you must be an Etsy member. It’s EASY, sign up here if you are not a member already: www.etsy.com

Search each participating shop listed below to find a hidden Candy Corny image. Each participating shop has ONE Candy Corny hidden somewhere in a listing. When you find one, make a note of the shop name, and the item number shown in the address window of that item. For example, if you found a Candy Corny here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=285136 Jot down "creationsinglass 285136" (shop name and item number).

Remember she may be hiding ANYWHERE in a shop. Simple!

When you've found all of the Candy Cornys, send a convo to Kris & Peggy at http://www.creationsinglass.etsy.com with all your answers.

The contest will run for one week, Oct, 24-31. After midnight Oct. 31, our CGGE judges will check all of the entries for correct Candy Corny sightings.

Winners are the entries with the most correct sightings. In the likely event of a tie, the three winners will be drawn at random from all the correct entries. The lucky, clever winners will be notified via convos on Nov. 1, and their names will be published before the cheering throngs on our website and in the Etsy forums.

CGGE members are not allowed to participate, but will join in, chat and cheer contestants on in the thread while you are searching for the Candy Corny!

I just wanted to take a moment to feature one of my Etsy Street Team Teammates from the Creative Glass Guild of Etsy (CGGE) and express my appreciation for her!

Karen, of FireChickTick.etsy.com is such a talented artist and wonderful charismatic and endearing person. I have really been fortunate to get to know her as a result of our team chats and private forum.

Recently, I had the pleasure of purchasing a few of her gorgeous bubble fused glass jewelry pieces, pictured below (they are linked to her Etsy site, so click away!)

I really wanted to share with everybody how kind and generous Karen is. Her work is exceptional and I LOVE this set. I get so many compliments on them whenever I wear them (pic of me and my daughter to the left, I'm wearing my new bubble set!)

It is really great advertising! I get the chance to mention that they are handmade pieces I bought online from a friend of mine and that we are in a collective group of glass workers. I usually have a card or two on me, and write down the shop name of who I bought as well as our team site, and of course my site is on there too, so it's a triple bonus!

Creative Glass Guild of Etsy~ Trivia Contest: August 26th

The Creative Glass Guild of Etsy (CGGE) would like to announce our Sunday Street Team Trivia Challenge!  On August 26^th at 4pm PST (7pm EST, 10pm UK) , CGGE members will host our FIRST Sunday Street Team Trivia Contest.

This is a fun trivia contest featuring questions written by CGGE members about the CGGE team and members, it’s kind of a meet and greet, AND you will have the chance to win some AWESOME prizes!

We will be giving out a total of 3 glass prize packages! 

• The first place  winner will receive a fused glass slider pendant donated by lisahammer , a stained glass butterfly donated by creationsinglass , AND a fused glass bubble sushi dish donated by glassprimitif

• Discussion with group regarding success of sales. Most members attending confirmed they had made sales. Agreed that the bright green avatar may have put some Etsyians off from entering our promotional forums. Suggested that a colored border to avatar would be sufficient next time.

• Vote on banner on Friday June 15. Voting at http://www.cgge.org in the  private forum (EtsyHelp, banners), post vote as your “official vote. Getglassy has created a banner featuring commercial images of glass – if chosen then members to submit own images of glass working. We can post photos of our images on Flickr.

• Promotional Stuff
• Keep threads visible in Streetteams forum, check and post often
• Glasshousejewelry suggested a style hive. A social shopping site where everyone sends her an image from their shop that they want to promote.
• Lisahammer has posted a CGGE Myspace account, will be linked to main CGGE page
• Newsletter – can be sent via email when people sign up for it. We can send out sales and promotions to customers. Getglassy can send official CGGE emails if she has all members’ email addys. Also can add a How to become a Member application page to website.

• Convo Getglassy to post a link on the CGGE website to your blog. She will add a links page to the site.
• Avatar - on Flickr will hopefully be part of the new banner.
• Banner voting is a priority.
• Discussion of criteria for glass bead user. Agreed Ok to be a member if you use primarily glass beads, provided the majority are handmade beads, not manufactured, and preferably by other Etsy artists.

·         What time should start on June 1^st?  One suggestion was 12:01am PDT, which would make it around 9pm here, and I could post the starting thread, but for those not awake at that time…My other suggestion was 5pm EDT which is 2pm PDT on June 1^st 

·         I would start the initial post with who we are, what we are doing etc. add my sale as the first example, and then everyone else who is participating would add their sales to the thread

• I think we should post the actual SALE thread in the Street Team area, but also advertise in Promos area with a link to our street team thread.  Both threads will need to be kept visible :)
•          We should also do treasuries featuring items for , with titles, like “Big Glass SALE here”  “Glass Spring into Summer Sale”  “Spring into Summer Sale” etc. whatever will fit, and then say CGGE member sale once inside, that way people who don’t know what the CGGE is will still come browse when they see SALE, or Glass Sale in the title.  Please only a few up a time, we don’t want to inundate people!

FROM Patti:  Website forums - remember there is a private and public side. Public side of course should be used for announcements and whats new, press and the good stuff to make us look professional.

Private side is where we should be discussing everything. Maybe name changes in the categories so its more obvious.

Also ideas of what categories we should have, like the one I did for website, promotion, etc...

I will be researching a chat program next.
